How Angular, Ionic, and PWAs Enable Scalable Software Products

Building for web and mobile often means maintaining separate applications, tools, and release processes. However, Angular, Ionic, Capacitor, and Progressive Web Apps make it possible to deliver experiences across multiple platforms while sharing most of the same codebase.


In this talk, we’ll explore how these technologies fit together in a real-world architecture. We’ll cover everything from building and packaging applications with Capacitor to distributing them through services such as Appflow and Capawesome. We’ll also look at offline capabilities, performance considerations, and the situations in which hybrid applications work particularly well.


We’ll also examine the trade-offs. Shared bugs can affect every platform at the same time, native platform features do not always translate easily into a hybrid UI, and some experiences require platform-specific solutions.


Expect practical lessons, architectural insights, and real-world examples from building and maintaining production applications at scale.

Nectarios is a Software Engineer at XM. He's passionate about UI/UX and loves building cross-platform applications that handle massive scale behind the scenes while keeping things incredibly simple for the user. To speed up development, he's actively experimenting with agentic workflows to offload the routine heavy lifting, leaving more room to tackle complex system design. Day-to-day, Nectarios focuses on building decoupled microfrontend architectures, leveraging modern Angular, and managing complex workspaces within an Nx monorepo.
