Module Federation is a runtime model for loading and sharing modules between
independently built applications. In Angular it can be implemented through more
than one toolchain, and the choice is not cosmetic.
The default pipeline is the Angular CLI, which pairs with Native Federation on
esbuild. Angular also supports custom build pipelines, and that is where Rspack
and Vite with classic Module Federation come in. All three are built here from
one product with identical feature code, five independently built Angular 22
applications, and run side by side.
This is an advanced talk for Angular developers building or considering federated applications, and for
anyone who has only ever used ng build.
